High-density foam materials have better quality and are suitable for withstanding high pressure. Low-density foams usually function as conventional foams, that comes in light-weighted materials, such as guest room mattresses, light use products etc. and high-density foams work best for heavy uses such as automobile seating.

FIRMNESS
Firmness is the measure of foam reaction to pressure and weight. It describes the feel of the foam and gives an idea about how foam will support weight in different applications. It also helps in identifying the purpose of foams. Firmness is measured here in a unit called indentation force deflection. Soft, medium and high firmness foam are the classifications depending on the strength/firmness of the foam.
